Acrylic pour on board, metallic colours, earth theme with bright intrusions. Gold, earth gold and turquoise. Really humble but royal peacock would not be ashamed to reveal his tail with feathers like this.
Autumn is such a beautiful time of year, but because it’s cold many people forget how firey and warm the colours are. I wanted to paint a painting that illustrates the warming colours of autumn in a cold season.
the painting will come with a new frame with celefane that has to be removed unlike the frame you see which has already had the celefane removed just so i could get a better pic shot. the original idea was to paint a lions heads using jus the one shape yes well that idea went out the window when it come to designing the cheek of the lion no matter how many times i painted with differant combinations of triangles it jus wasnt right so i put a couple of squares in and it jus happened to turn into the diamond shape which i think works well for the cheek area even if it was unintensionally. one other area was the red in the picture was originally just a normal red and i hated it mainly because it looked like the lion was wearing bright red lipstick so i darkened the red to the ox blood colour which agn wasnt planed but works i think alot better. also ive enjoyed doing this painting that much that ive already started on the next which will agn be jus triangles but a differant animal. just a tip to anyone whos thinking of doing artwork on a black background, id say you would use more paint than usual especially if you want true colour make sure you whiten the area first, u would believe the amount of white i had to use in this painting even i was generaly shocked. 4 coats of white on pretty much the whole painting before i even looked at a colour. the painting will be ready by the 22nd feb 2020.
