My name is Ione Milne, I'm 26 and until June this year, I was based in South-East London working as an artist and scenic artist. The works I created are abstract still lifes around the concept of home and 'homing', and how our connection to objects, patterns, colours and textures, the details within our lives, shape our sense of self. I like to leave some of the board or linen revealed, to integrate it into the context of the painting, I also do this on canvas by building up thin layers of paint for each new object applied to the composition, so that the base patterns and colours can still be read through the subsequent layers. more...
