About
James Stevens started drawing from a young age, aspiring to produce greater and more detailed works of art. Growing up, his artwork was entered into many young artist county competitions and displayed for viewing across his schools. He soon gained a good reputation for his abilities and work. It wasn’t until later in his life that he began building a career from his art, originally making illustrations for adverts and companies. This soon progressed to creating his larger handmade works. James creates his work using graphite and ballpoint ink, the work he produces forming a balance between photorealism and creative exploration, blending the two into every piece he makes. He began developing a following and reputation for himself following on from his first few pieces in the ‘Africa Collection’. These proved popular and since then James has taken on full-time commission work, creating large scale pieces for clients all over the UK.
