Scraped and polished lacquer with engraving and steel inserts with a homemade black frame. I painted this piece as a commentary on how more than DNA is passed down from generation to generation. All kinds of choices and decisions can also have far reaching consequences.

I paint in tempera powder and lacquer which is then scraped and polished to give a smooth, glass-like, finish; somewhat similar to polished stone. I am a philosophy graduate and tend to paint about how ideas, emotions and feelings manifest themselves into the physical world.
