have been painting and drawing for as far back as I can remember and consider myself to be a self taught artist. I studied illustration in Edinburgh before heading to London where I began freelance career as an artist and illustrator. At that time my client base were mainly restaurants, pubs chains and stadiums where I painted murals, provided bespoke canvases for refurbishments and hand drawn advertising on chalkboards. My illustration styles evolved over time from traditional mediums to digital formats using Abobe software and Corel Painter. In 2012 I moved back to Edinburgh and continued in that vein for a while. Although I enjoyed my work which became predominantly digital, I realised I missed the messiness and freeness of working with paint so in January 2018 I decided to start creating my own art and see where that took me. I am inspired by nature and animals, colours and light but I am also interested in the human condition, philosophy and exploring Christian spirituality. Painting helps me to keep balanced in today’s turbulent world by deeply observing and interpreting it’s beauty.
